Electronic Arts is seeking a Software Engineer III (AI/ML) to join the EA SPORTS FC team in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. As a leader in the gaming industry, EA SPORTS is driving transformational changes in game development and player experiences. The successful candidate will work on revolutionizing game testing by building Gen AI systems and using advanced Machine Learning techniques.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and scale Reinforcement Learning (RL) training pipelines to create highly capable agents.
- Develop models and algorithms that simulate human-like gameplay and decision-making for rigorous behavioral testing.
- Stress test internal systems and game logic by deploying RL agents to identify security vulnerabilities, exploits, and edge-case failures.
- Architect internal APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and orchestration workflows to ensure high-capacity experimentation and observability.
- Collaborate across the FC franchise with game area teams to develop testing systems for AI/ML game features.
- Boost engineering output by adopting advanced AI-assisted workflows and maintaining rigorous standards for code quality.
Core Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics with ML specialization, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- At least 5 years of experience in game or tool engineering using C++ or C#.
- 2+ years of experience in Reinforcement Learning or closely related fields.
- Programming skills in Python and C++, with intrinsic knowledge of system design and distributed backends.
- Experience with console platforms, game development lifecycles, and testing ML-integrated game features.
Other Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (Master's) in a relevant technical discipline.
- Demonstrated history of deploying and maintaining ML models within commercial software environments.
- Knowledge and passion for the sport of football (soccer).
