We are seeking an experienced Gameplay Engineer to help build and support high-quality player-facing gameplay features for a live-service multiplayer game.
Your Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with designers to develop, prototype, iterate, and polish gameplay features that support the overall creative vision of the game.
- Implement and maintain gameplay systems with a focus on reliability, performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
- Support core gameplay development across multiple gameplay areas, including player-facing systems, weapons, abilities, and mode-specific features.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to help deliver features that integrate cleanly into the broader game experience.
- Work with engineers, designers, artists, animators, QA, and production to deliver high-quality features on schedule while managing technical risk.
- Investigate and resolve bugs, regressions, edge cases, and gameplay issues across a large, complex codebase.
- Contribute to technical design discussions, code reviews, and ongoing improvements to engineering standards, workflows, and shared gameplay technology.
- Help ensure that new gameplay features are robust, scalable, performant, and appropriate for a live multiplayer environment.
- Provide guidance to other engineers through technical feedback, implementation support, and clear communication of tradeoffs.
Your qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in software development engineering on gameplay teams.
- Shipped multiplayer video game titles.
- Experience working on Live Service video game titles.
- Experience working with a large codebase, managing and improving performance and budget.
- Advanced C++/C skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent training and professional experience.

Salary:
- British Columbia: $122,300 – $170,700 CAD
- California: $143,800 – $217,200 USD
