As a Canada Public Sector Account Executive at Anthropic, you'll drive the adoption of safe, frontier AI across the Canadian public sector.
You will leverage your deep understanding of Canadian government operations and consultative sales expertise to propel revenue growth while becoming a trusted partner to customers, helping them embed and deploy AI while uncovering its full range of capabilities.
In collaboration with GTM, product, and marketing teams, you'll help refine our approach to the Canadian public-sector market while maintaining the highest standards of security and compliance.
This is a national role anchored in the National Capital Region, supporting the Government of Canada, provincial/territorial governments, Canada's national security and defence community, crown corporations, and the broader public sector.
Responsibilities:
- Drive new business and revenue growth across the Canadian public sector, with the Government of Canada as the primary focus and provincial/territorial governments, crown corporations, and the broader public sector as secondary coverage, owning the full sales cycle from initial outreach through deployment.
- Navigate how the Government of Canada buys cloud and AI services, including software licensing supply arrangements, federal cloud brokering, resale through Canadian partners, consumption via cloud provider marketplaces, competitive tendering, and Indigenous procurement considerations.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers across the Government of Canada, including departmental Chief Information Officers and Chief Data Officers, senior program executives, central agency and procurement stakeholders, and mission owners, becoming a trusted advisor on AI capabilities and implementation.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans that align with departmental mandates and modernization initiatives, positioning Anthropic early in major programs to shape requirements before they are finalized.
- Navigate Canadian security and compliance requirements, including data classification levels, federal security control profiles, assessment and authorization, data-residency requirements, and personnel security clearances.
- Coordinate closely with cloud service providers and system integrators to ensure successful deployment and integration.
- Represent Anthropic at Canadian public-sector and partner events, including industry days, conferences, and cloud provider events, raising Anthropic's profile through speaking engagements and community engagement.
- Provide detailed market intelligence and customer feedback to product teams to ensure our offerings meet Canadian public-sector requirements, including responsible-AI obligations under the Treasury Board Directive on Automated Decision-Making and the Algorithmic Impact Assessment.
- Create and maintain sales playbooks specific to Canadian public-sector use cases and procurement processes.
- Generate pipeline and own territory and account planning across your assigned Canadian public-sector accounts, maintaining hands-on engagement with key accounts.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure coordinated delivery of commitments and maintain appropriate documentation of customer engagements, engaging bilingually (English/French) with federal institutions and Quebec public-sector customers where required.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of enterprise sales experience in the Canadian public sector, the majority selling to the Government of Canada, with a proven track record of driving adoption of emerging technologies.
- Deep understanding of federal department and agency mandates, challenges, and technology needs, with working knowledge of provincial/territorial and broader public-sector buyers.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic account leadership with hands-on sales execution.
- Familiarity with how the Government of Canada buys and secures cloud and AI services, with the judgment to navigate these processes alongside partners, capture, and deal teams.
- Strong track record of exceeding revenue targets and closing large, complex, long-cycle public-sector deals.
- Ability to be based in the National Capital Region, with travel across Canada as needed.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada personnel security clearance (Reliability Status; Secret an asset).
- Executive presence and relationship-building skills across all levels, from technical teams to senior agency leadership (ADM/DG).
- Proven ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders, including cloud providers and system integrators.
- Professional working proficiency in French, sufficient to support Quebec public-sector engagement and bilingual delivery of customer-facing material.
- Strategic thinking combined with attention to detail in execution.
- A passion for safe and ethical AI development, with the ability to articulate its importance in government contexts.
The annual compensation range for this role is $420,000-$495,000 CAD.
