We're hiring for Shift Support Supervisors, also known as Senior Reactor Operators, across multiple plant locations, with a focus on Plant Hatch in Baxley, GA. As a Shift Support Supervisor In-Training, you'll perform operations staff functions to prepare for an NRC Hot License Class.
Responsibilities include:
- Completing plant-provided systems and fundamentals training on reactor operation, heat transfer, fluid flow, and thermodynamics
- Passing initial screening and annual medical requirements for industrial fire brigade duties
- Directing operating shift personnel in plant duties upon completing the Hot License Class and obtaining an NRC Operating License
- Standing watch on rotating 12-hour shifts and coordinating plant system operations
- Maintaining qualification as a member of the plant Fire Brigade
Requirements:
- At least one of the following:
- 1+ year as an active reactor operator at a BWR/PWR facility
- 1.5+ years as an active reactor operator at a non-comparable commercial power reactor
- 2+ years in a military equivalent position (e.g., Engineering Officers of the Watch or Propulsion Plant Watch Officers)
- Preferred candidates have 6+ years of nuclear plant operations experience, including a previous NRC RO or SRO license or military equivalent
- Demonstrated leadership, excellent oral and written communication skills, analytical thinking, and mechanical aptitude
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred
Other Requirements:
- Obtain U.S. Nuclear Power Plant Unescorted Access and participate in the company's Fitness-for-Duty Program
- Complete a Personal History Questionnaire for an extensive background investigation
- Maintain qualifications and on-call responsibilities in support of the plant Emergency Response Organization
