The Maritime Manufacturing Technology Team is seeking an Equipment and Tooling Design Engineer to join their team. The team is responsible for rapidly developing and implementing manufacturing technologies and processes for cutting-edge defense hardware.

As the Equipment Engineer, Maritime, you will design and assist in the development of next-generation equipment and tooling, as well as layouts to support manufacturing processes, production systems, movement simulations, and digital twins of the production environment.

The goal is to drive efficient, rapid, on-time production and start-up of the new production line for maritime vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Design and create factory layouts and discreet designs incorporating next-generation movement, holding, and processing systems.
  • Question requirements in production system design and facility creation to ensure cost- and schedule-effective solutions.
  • Support design, development, construction, commissioning, and start-up of production systems at new factory sites.
  • Provide support on product manufacturing processes, material flow, and new technologies.
  • Lead hands-on and drive collaboration with various teams to deliver creative and effective production system designs.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience as a designer and technology developer of tools, tooling, equipment, and processes for manufacturing technology development.
  • Technology development and implementation experience in facilities, equipment, and tooling for large-scale manufacturing.
  • Ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior work with architecture and infrastructure engineering partners and/or general contractors.
  • Process improvement experience.
  • Application of lean manufacturing and linear flow principles.
  • Automation development for manufacturing processes.
  • Design and construction of facilities, tooling, fixturing, and equipment for large-scale production systems.
