Join Bayer Crop Science in Muscatine, Iowa, as a Packaging Technician. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safe operation of chemical processing and packaging equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and repair packaging equipment, troubleshooting problems as they arise
- Provide leadership and direction to contractor employees on shift
- Perform mechanical maintenance and preventative maintenance on packaging equipment
- Complete equipment repair notifications and collaborate with Maintenance Technicians
- Document actions and adjustments during shifts
- Conduct equipment isolations and issue work permits to contractors
- Assist in preparing and reviewing key process documentation
- Complete required safety, quality, and environmental checks
- Mentor and coach peers and contractor operators
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED with strong reading comprehension, writing, and math skills
- Basic knowledge of IT systems and applications
- Strong focus on safety, teamwork, and adaptability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a diverse team environment
- Willingness to work rotating shifts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of manufacturing, agriculture operations, or military experience
- Experience with information technology systems and applications
- Forklift operation skills
- Hand tool proficiency
- One year of experience operating or repairing packaging equipment
- Troubleshooting and mechanical repair skills
- Experience with Computer Control Systems (PLC & Delta V)
- Leadership experience
