We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at American Honda Motor Company in Raymond, Ohio. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional divisions to develop automotive body structures and components that meet or exceed customer expectations while balancing vehicle performance, styling, marketability, manufacturing, profitability, and other design constraints.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating and managing 3D models, layouts, and 2D drawings using CATIA
- Correlating and negotiating with internal Honda contacts, including other design departments, test departments, styling studio, factories, and purchasing
- Leading part development activities with suppliers, setting design targets, and confirming prospects to achieve requirements
- Estimating and managing part cost, weight, and investment throughout development, including reviewing supplier quotes
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience
- Proficiency with CATIA or other 3D CAD software
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
