  • Uphold standards for reliability, performance, and security within your team's scope, balancing high-availability requirements with developer experience
  • Break down roadmap priorities into clear, actionable plans for your team, and track relevant business metrics
  • Manage day-to-day execution, including technical debt tradeoffs and unblocking your team to hit measurable outcomes
  • Grow and support your team members directly – regular 1:1s, mentorship, and fostering ownership and collaboration within the team

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years directly managing engineers on platform, infrastructure, or internal developer teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Hands-on experience building or operating CI, build or artifact platforms at scale
  • Solid understanding of SDLC practices, code review workflows, and branching/release strategies
  • Working knowledge or hands-on experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience managing and mentoring engineers, with a track record of supporting individual growth and team execution
  • Comfortable defining, tracking and continuously improving business metrics for your team
  • Champion of using automation and AI to reduce toil and improve velocity and quality
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms, containerization, and modern CI / build practices
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
  • Clear communicator, able to represent your team's work and technical tradeoffs to both engineers and cross-functional stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in regulated or security-sensitive environments
  • Familiarity with DORA metrics and delivery performance measurement
  • Exposure to supply-chain security and compliance
