As a Development Manager, you will report to a Development Director and ensure the game feature delivery is on time and within budget. You will support the systems team and oversee the project schedule and manage the team to achieve a high standard. The team works hybrid/onsite in Vancouver, 3 days a week: Tuesday – Thursday.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a development team consisting of Software Engineers, Animators, Artists, and Designers.
- Anticipate bottlenecks, provide management escalation, project prioritization, make trade-offs, balance needs versus technical constraints, and promote initial partner deployments.
- Focus on the immediate team and identify team issues, and suggest solutions related to execution goals. Identify task-related processes to improve efficiency.
- Ensure each project setup meets the specifications with regular status reporting and capacity plan updates.
- Establish engagement processes to ensure all workflows are clearly defined, processes are documented, and staff are trained in expectations.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of Project Management Experience with production lifecycles, processes, and project planning.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Business, 3D Arts, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in a Scrum / Agile software development environment.
- Stakeholder management experience with cross-functional and/or distributed teams.
- Experience working with expansive teams, mediation, and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to use generative AI productivity tools for daily workflow optimization, early-stage ideation, rapid prototyping, with the ability to critically validate AI output and iterate effectively.
