xAI is seeking a Controls Technician to support the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems for data centers and infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and modify BMS, EPMS, and SCADA systems for data centers
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot critical systems like chillers, pumps, and power distribution
- Support HMI graphics and interface updates for system monitoring
- Maintain automated controls for fire safety and emergency shutdown procedures
- Monitor and report on key metrics like PUE and infrastructure performance
- Coordinate with teams to respond to utility grid events
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in a technical field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as a technician working with industrial control systems
- Experience with Ignition SCADA or similar programming
- Familiarity with Siemens TIA Portal or equivalent PLC programming
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Troubleshooting industrial equipment using IEC 61131-3 languages
- Experience with hardware from Siemens, SEL, Rockwell, or similar
- Basic knowledge of HMI development tools like Ignition
- Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach
- Excellent documentation and communication abilities
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work extended periods standing, in tight quarters, and exposed to noise
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to lift or carry 10-15lbs
- Subject to pre-employment drug testing and random drug/alcohol testing
