You will join Synopsys, the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. As a Business Development, Staff member, you will play a crucial role in shaping the company's product portfolio by identifying and closing acquisitions that fill strategic gaps and accelerate growth.

Your background is in investment banking or consulting, with experience in M&A deal processes, financial modeling, and business case development. You are comfortable working under pressure, leading by influence, and coordinating across finance, legal, strategy, and business units to keep deals on track.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Sourcing and evaluating M&A targets by partnering with business leaders across Synopsys to identify gaps in product portfolios and growth opportunities
  • Building financial models and business cases that support deal rationale, valuation, and strategic fit for senior leadership review
  • Supporting deal execution by coordinating due diligence, managing data rooms, and working cross-functionally with legal, finance, and business unit leaders
  • Partnering with the strategy function to analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and technology shifts that inform M&A priorities
  • Tracking and supporting post-close integration efforts by ensuring deal value drivers are understood and progress is visible to stakeholders

In this role, you will have a significant impact on the company by helping to shape its product portfolio, informing executive team and board of director decisions, accelerating deal timelines, ensuring successful integrations, building institutional knowledge, and establishing relationships with senior leaders.

Requirements include:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, or corporate development with exposure to M&A deal processes
  • Strong financial modeling skills and the ability to build business cases that hold up under scrutiny
  • Experience supporting deal execution, including due diligence coordination, valuation analysis, or transaction support
  • An MBA or equivalent analytical training that prepared you to work with ambiguous problems and senior stakeholders
  • Comfort working in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis tools to build models and communicate recommendations clearly
