Ford's Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team is seeking an Electronics Hardware Engineer to help deliver the company's vision of a fully electric transportation future. As an Electronics Hardware Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and developing electric vehicle systems.
Responsibilities:
- Capture requirements from stakeholders and translate them into technical specifications
- Create schematics, select components, and release designs
- Research new concepts and develop products from idealization to production readiness
- Perform worst-case design calculations, end-of-life estimations, thermal calculations, and component selection
- Collaborate with PCB and mechanical teams to review layouts
- Implement power electronic topologies and perform design failure analysis
- Conduct hands-on hardware bring-up, characterization, troubleshooting, and failure analysis
- Work with engineering teams to ensure adherence to technical specifications
- Support definition of design validation tests and end-of-line tests
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
- Hands-on experience with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools
- Experience with failure investigations and root cause analysis
- Familiarity with electric/electronic systems and standard lab equipment
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as RS485, UART, CAN, and Ethernet
- At least 5 years of experience designing automotive electronics

Salary:
- Salary grade 6: $100,400 – $168,000 per year
- Salary grade 7: $118,700 – $198,500 per year
- Salary grade 8: $138,800 – $232,700 per year
