Ford's Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team is seeking a Senior Aerodynamics Engineer to contribute to the development of groundbreaking electric vehicles.

As a Senior Aerodynamics Engineer, you will be responsible for creating aerodynamically efficient designs, working with cross-functional partners to improve aerodynamic performance, and redefining what is possible in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities:

• Use a first-principles approach to create aerodynamically efficient designs
• Collaborate with Design and Vehicle Engineering to improve aerodynamic performance
• Work with designers to define products that balance aerodynamics and aesthetics
• Design and modify aerodynamic concepts in CAD
• Evaluate and refine designs using CFD and experimental methods
• Define and execute wind tunnel, road, and track test programs
• Optimize part execution for aerodynamics and resolve design conflicts
• Develop tools and methods used within the Aerodynamics team

Qualifications:

• BS degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in aerodynamic development
• 5+ years of experience using CFD and experimental testing
• 3+ years of experience creating and manipulating 3D surfaces in CAD

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's or PhD degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering
• Detailed technical knowledge of CFD fundamentals
• Experience with LLMs
• Ability to communicate complex aerodynamics concepts to cross-functional partners
• Track record of creating novel aerodynamic concepts
• Automotive or motorsport industry experience
