We are seeking a skilled Machining Technician to join our team at Cummins Inc. in Morristown, TN. As a Machining Technician, you will operate machines and production equipment safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment with limited guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe work environment by stopping work and reporting any major injury hazards immediately
- Report incidents, including work-related injuries, illnesses, and hazards, to promote a proactive safety culture
- Adhere to HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe and environmentally friendly workplace
- Use personal protective equipment consistently to protect yourself and colleagues from potential hazards
- Promote team safety by fostering a supportive and interdependent work environment
- Recognize and minimize the negative impact of your work on the environment to support sustainability efforts
- Follow standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures to maintain high product standards and reduce costs
- Participate in training and development, and engage in continuous improvement initiatives to drive team and organizational success
Requirements:
- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience
- Some work experience or intermediate-level knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience
- Experience operating CNC machines (1-3 years)
- Ability to read blueprints
- Familiarity with measuring instruments
- Basic math skills (decimals, fractions, tolerances)
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere
