The Senior Product Sourcing Engineer drives strategic supply network development and cost management of Anduril's product hardware across their lifecycles. You will collaborate with suppliers and cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams.
Responsibilities
- Conduct supplier selection for specific products, leveraging the approved supplier list
- Partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development through concept scoping, feature trade-off tables, should-cost models, joint design development, and simulation of mechanical and electronics designs
- Drive development and consolidation of manufacturing BOM, working with Quality and Manufacturing to ramp production internally and with suppliers
- Manage CAPEX throughout NPI
- Conduct value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility
- Complete BOM risk assessments, including alternate component sourcing
- Ensure completion of all component qualifications ahead of production
- Reduce complexity through commonality optimization and component/supplier rationalization
- Lead cost engineering activities to converge the bottoms-up cost curve to product cost, maximizing total cost of ownership (TCO) across the product lifecycle
- Manage ad-hoc cost issues, such as tariffs and import/export costs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field
- 5+ years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement and development, or design of electronics and/or mechanical devices
- Domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at the component and product level
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- Ability to relocate to Huntsville, AL
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or advanced technical degree
- Experience in design and development of electronics and/or mechanical devices
- Advanced sourcing activities, including stints as commodity/sourcing managers
- Supplier development (technology, process, supply chain)
- Early supplier engagement
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment, preferably in energetics and solid rocket motor (SRM) production
- Familiarity with developing high-tech products in a high-mix, low-volume environment
- Exposure to working in a fast-paced, start-up environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance
