We are seeking a Lead Technician to join the Omen Team within Maneuver Dominance. Omen is Anduril’s hover-to-cruise autonomous air vehicle (AAV) that packs the endurance, payload, and mission flexibility of much larger airplanes into a novel runway-independent Group 3 platform.

As the Lead Technician, you will oversee and coordinate the technical fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing of complex electro-mechanical and avionics systems. You will provide technical guidance, ensure quality standards, and collaborate closely with engineering and production teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily activities of technician team to meet production targets.
  • Help manage daily priorities, provide necessary process and design feedback, and train team where knowledge gaps are present.
  • Support new product engineering during development and pre-production phases of hardware life-cycles.
  • Assist with transitioning product lines from engineering development to full rate production.
  • Provide detailed feedback to engineering team on process improvements, common issues, line layout, and work instructions.
  • Maintain engineering pilot line and tool storage.
  • Follow detailed blueprints, schematics, and instructions to assemble products or systems.
  • Maintain detailed records of assembly processes, test results, and any issues encountered.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures in the workplace.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing setting (aerospace, electronics, or medical industry is preferred) performing mechanical and/or electrical assemblies.
  • Proficient with common hand tools and power tools.
  • Proficient with computer use (standard browser, word processing applications).
  • Able to read wiring diagrams and follow assembly instructions.
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with engineering and production.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize self and team member activities to achieve production goals.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lead or managed a team of technicians in the past.
  • Demonstrated experience with many aspects of aircraft or ground systems fabrication, repair, assembly, and operation.
  • Experience with common air-frame construction techniques.
  • Prior hands-on experience with kit, model, or experimental aircraft builds.
  • Running functional checkouts and tests, and diagnosing issues discovered during these processes.
  • Troubleshooting ability with good first principles logic.
  • Basic understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles.
  • Assist with kitting products, as needed.
  • Holds an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license or has similar training.
  • Forklift certification.
