TGR Haas F1 Team, a stalwart of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, is seeking a skilled RTS Lead Mechanic to join their team in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
The successful candidate will report to the RTS Chief Mechanic and will be responsible for leading and mentoring personnel within the RTS mechanics group, overseeing daily activities, promoting teamwork, and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing day-to-day leadership and mentorship to the RTS mechanics group
- Directing and coaching team members to maximize department performance
- Overseeing daily activities and ensuring efficient service delivery
- Promoting teamwork and effective communications across departments
- Liaising with various departments to distribute information accurately and meeting tight deadlines
- Reporting reliability issues and seeking advice for out-of-the-ordinary tasks
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Following engineering procedures and protocols
- Supporting departmental strategies and contributing to cross-functional projects
- Developing team capability through regular feedback, coaching, and development opportunities
- Ensuring team compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures
- Building effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Managing resources and budgets effectively
- Upholding governance standards and identifying operational risks
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 4 years of experience in a similar mechanical role or motorsport environment, preferably in Formula 1
- Proven leadership experience in high-pressure, performance-driven environments
- Strong resilience and composure in fast-paced environments
- Integrity and discretion when managing confidential information
- A collaborative mindset with a commitment to team cohesion
- Adaptability and flexibility, including willingness to travel extensively and work irregular hours
- Solid computer knowledge, preferably with experience using systems such as Microsoft D365, 3DX, and Lifecheck
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to follow complex regulations
