Electronic Arts is seeking a Writer – American Football to join their team in Orlando, Florida. This is a 12-month temporary employment opportunity with a hybrid work arrangement, requiring 3 days of work per week in the studio.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating fiction for internal teams and player-facing elements, such as on-screen text, player dialogue, and broadcaster dialogue. They will also attend recording sessions, work with voice-over talent, and ensure that recordings meet high-quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design, write, and prepare scripts for announcers for multiple game modes
- Attend recording sessions and work with voice-over talent, producers, directors, and audio support staff
- Write copy for in-game UI screens, tutorials, and other player-facing dialogue
- Work with implementers and audio staff to ensure accurate playback of new lines in-game
- Participate in weekly design meetings and review sessions
- Analyse and critique current builds for quality and accuracy of writing and dialogue
- Identify areas for added depth and improvements to commentary, on-screen dialogue, and player-facing writing
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of American football, including players, teams, recent news, history, and terminology
- Background or experience in creative or video game writing
- Strong communication skills and ability to solicit feedback from the team
- Familiarity with video games across multiple genres
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Experience working collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to meet writing deadlines and work under pressure
