ZoomInfo is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer III to join the DAAS team in Waltham, Massachusetts.

As a Software Engineer III, you will design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Java and Node.js frameworks like NestJS. You will build scalable systems using event streaming technologies like Kafka, collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and implement new features and functionalities for the platform, refactor and improve existing codebases to enhance performance, scalability, and maintainability, develop and implement RESTful APIs adhering to best practices and design patterns, work with cutting-edge cloud technologies, solve interesting and challenging problems alongside a great team of engineers, and develop new skills as you push your knowledge and our technology to new levels.

The ideal candidate has a Master's in Computer Science and 2+ years of experience as a Backend Software Engineer with a focus on Java and Node.js or 4+ years of experience and Bachelor's in Computer Science.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Java and Node.js frameworks like NestJS.
  • Build scalable systems using event streaming technologies like Kafka.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and implement new features and functionalities for the platform.
  • Refactor and improve existing codebases to enhance performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Develop and implement RESTful APIs adhering to best practices and design patterns.
  • Work with cutting-edge cloud technologies.
  • Solve interesting and challenging problems alongside a great team of engineers.
  • Develop new skills as you push your knowledge and our technology to new levels.

Requirements:

  • Master's in Computer Science and 2+ years of experience as a Backend Software Engineer with a focus on Java and Node.js or 4+ years of experience and Bachelor's in Computer Science.
  • Experience with SQL Server and/or MongoDB – writing efficient queries, designing schemas, and ensuring data security.
  • Familiarity with designing, building, and maintaining RESTful web APIs.
  • Familiarity with software development best practices, including SOLID principles, design patterns, and unit testing.
  • Experience with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues.
  • Passion for developing software and continuous improvement.
  • Strong desire to seek pragmatic, innovative solutions to complex business and technical problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with internal teams including customer support, product, and engineering.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Kafka or other messaging systems for real-time data processing.
  • Demonstrable contributions to open-source projects.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, specifically AWS and GCP, including deploying, monitoring, and scaling applications.
  • Virtualization and orchestration of applications (Docker/Kubernetes/ECS).
  • Experience building microservices architectures.
